Free to a Good Home- Closed
White and black cat with a striped red hat. Abnormally tall, stands on hind legs. Speaks only in rhymes. Answers to "Cat in the Hat" and is generally a rabble rouser.
I bought this Cat in the Hat fabric by Robert Kaufman a while ago thinking I would use it for a baby blanket, but then I didn't. To be honest, I really don't like the Cat in the Hat. He's kind of a jerk, going into those kids' house, making a mess, not taking a hint to leave. At least he had the decency to clean up after himself, I suppose, which is more than I can say for any other cat I've ever met in my life (dog person, can you tell?). Anyway, it's 27" x 44" and I've already washed it. If you want it and you live in the US, go to my friend Erin's shop, Dandelion Dream pick out your favorite tee, then come back and tell me which one it is. Heck you could even buy one if you like since it's totally for a good cause and all. Yes, yes this is a bribe. But seriously, to get the fabric all you have to do is tell me your favorite stamp she made or which color you like the best or something. I'll pick a random weiner on Thursday. I might even throw some other fabrics into the envelope, like maybe some solids or some cute fat quarters, maybe even something from the Denyse Schmidt line at JoAnn's and/or some of Alexander Henry's tattoo fabric. So maybe you should want to do this. Just sayin'.
Also, look at this folks:
Thank the Nordic gods who invented Ikea. By Odin's beard, this closet was a headache for me. I had all my fabric in a plastic tub and it was very hard to see what I had. $20 later everything is pretty and chromatic.
We got something else at Ikea. Adam has a huge stuffed bear his Aunt Anna gave him last Christmas. He loves it. He loves to sleep with it, eat with it, take it outside and throw rocks at it. He loves to bring it with him in the car and cries when I won't let him take it in the bath. He loves it too much. This poor fuzzy wuzzy is on his last leg, almost past the point where I can repair him. Apparently, nobody makes machine washable giant black stuffed bears. BUT Ikea makes giant stuff animals. And since he loves Spencer so much, I knew he would at least kind of like this guy. He has been a success so far. This morning Bear had been thrown outside the crib and Reginald's (that's his name) arm was safely tucked under Adam's. Only time will tell. I feel like I'm waiting for a kidney transplant to be accepted by his body.
