Play with Adam. Play, play, play.
Adam gets sleepy and a little whiney.
Adam takes nap.
Liz looks around room, decides to ignore mess and sew as an escape.
Rummage through fabric- what matches?
Sit down at machine and sew, sew, sew.
Sometimes I turn out something cute and awesome; sometimes it's a pile of doody ca-ca. Yesterday was one of those "cute and awesome" days. I was thinking about how Adam's birthday falls on Christmas in Russia (because they follow the Julian calendar, being Orthodox Christian) and what special little goodie I could make him (since he is part Russian) for his special day (and, I know, I play WAY in advance, but like I said, I was avoiding cleaning up. Sue me.). What I actually made was something Adam would probably have little to no interest in, but it is Russian inspired. So I was almost there.
Meet the babushka sisters. Three little dollies and a perfectly adorable fold-up pocket case with a play mat on the back. I envisioned little hands busy with imaginative play in the car, during church, in the stroller going shopping, and I thought even babies might like it as a little soft chewie toy.
I'm giving away the first set for free! The winner will be randomly selected on November 5. You can post one new comment/entry a day. Be sure to leave a way I can get in touch with you if you are selected!
